Update

The assistant to the supervisor did the "paper for paying before settlement" this morning, and said I should have my money by 3 PM. This means that the supervisor only had to fill out one paper before she went on vacation, and probably forgot on purpose. Bitch.

Did you forget what country you live in? The country thrives on being unproductive. That's why the hours are so long. They couldn't get shit done in eight hours.

All they'd have to do is not take naps after lunch time and not assign 5 people to one job. That's it.

I'll go on the record to say that while some places here do in fact thrive on being unproductive some industries are actually overproductive. Take my industry for example. The reason the hours are so long is because our clients essentially think they are gods and have no problem making stupid requests that will keep people in the office until 4 or 5 in the morning. It's funny that they always make sure to make these requests before they go home (around 5 or 6) and usually demand the results by the morning the next day.

In short, my next job, if it is in fact in Korea, will be on the client side. Fuck the service industry here.

What about how they match up with the rest of the world? What's the point of being overproductive if everyone else is just normal?

Well, overproductive doesn't necessarily mean efficient. That's why Korea leads the industrialized world in average work hours per week but is about in the middle as far as productivity. Face time is generally considered more important than the work that is actually performed at most places. Due to that, there is less emphasis placed on efficiency which leads to my long work hours and the underlying reason behind why getting your money was such a hassle.

So they work long and they're inefficient. Great.
